My name is Liam Wintroath and I’m proudly serving as the Principal of the Saint Mary School. I come from a large Irish Catholic family with five siblings and two loving parents. I’m originally from Southern CA and have also lived in OR, MN and IL. Some of my interests include traveling, sports, hanging out with friends and being outside.
I attended Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota for my undergraduate and earned a bachelors degree in Social Studies Education with a 5-12 Initial Social Studies Teaching License. From there I served in the Lasallian Volunteers program for 2 years as a teacher, tutor, coach and mentor at the San Miguel School Chicago.
After my time in Chicago I moved to Boston to pursue a Masters at Boston College through the Urban Catholic Teacher Corps program. For two years I served as a teacher, high school placement coordinator and administrator at Mother Caroline Academy in Dorchester. In Spring 2021 I earned my M.Ed in Curriculum & Instruction.
Next I started my second Masters program at Boston College through the Catholic Leadership Cohort program and I’m currently working on completing another M.Ed in Educational Leadership & Policy while also earning my Massachusetts Initial K-8 Principal licensure.
I believe that all children should be afforded every opportunity to succeed and grow as a whole person. I believe that a Catholic education provides students with the faith, tools and values to be people that live their lives for and with others.
