Did you know?
Pope Francis declared May 21st a new feast day! A beautiful spring day of blue skies and bright sunshine dawned on the day dedicated to Mary, Mother of the Church! This morning we honored the patroness of our school with a special prayer. What a blessing it is to have Mary's loving presence guide our students each and every day!
Make Your Impact and Watch Your Gift Grow! Until the end of the day on Monday, May 28th, every dollar donated to The Fund for Saint Mary School will be matched dollar for dollar by a generous donor!
We are so grateful for all donations - no amount is too small! Help spread the word about this wonderful opportunity to support Saint Mary School! Click here for more information.
Grade 2 dissected owl pellets last week! The students identified the bones found inside the pellet and used what they learned about the food chains and food webs to help them identify the bones.
We are 10 days away from STEM Day! We need your help to make this day a success! Do you work in a STEM - related career? Come share information about your job with our students! Click here for presenter information.
No time to present? Help us out by donating some materials needed for our STEM Day projects! Click here for donation list.
We were gifted with a fabulous cool afternoon during Friday afternoon's Walkathon. As Bose speakers blared out some favorite tunes, the children traveled around the track, many of them keeping stride with their Buddies. An ice pop treat was the perfect reward for their hard work. Thank you to all those who made donations to this fundraiser. Much appreciation is extended to Jamie Horvath and Katie Faucher for making this fun event such a success.
Highfields Golf and Country Club needs a head count by Friday, so grab your pens and fill out those Saint Mary School Golf registration forms this week. The hardworking members of the Golf Committee have secured the golf course, the sponsors and the exciting raffle prizes, so now they need GOLFERS!! If you have played before, you know what a marvelous tournament it is. If you have not played before, now is the time to join in the fun and support Saint Mary School's biggest fundraiser of the year! There are other ways to become involved. Consider making a donation, attending the 19th hole dinner reception, or buying a 50-50 raffle ticket. Click here for more information.
Today was the day of the annual butterfly release in First Grade. For the past few weeks the children have learned about metamorphosis as they watched the four stages of the butterfly life cycle unfold before their eyes. It is a magical experience that is always an exciting unit of study for our young students.
Sadly, our ever-changing weather pattern caused the postponement and eventually the cancelation of the Mother-Son event. We thank Cyndi Duerden and Allyson Brunner for planning such a unique event. Hopefully the weather will be more cooperative next year.
The results are in! A sincere thank you is extended to all families who made a contribution to the Pennies for Patients Coin Drive. Saint Mary School students raised $344.21 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The students seem to have taken this cause to heart. Some students went the extra mile, and a few coin boxes had thoughtful notes like "Get better soon".
