The curriculum in our middle school (grades 5 through 8) is rigorous and collaborative. Saint Mary’s provides a small school environment where middle school students receive the personalized attention they require to develop academically, spiritually and socially. The teachers hold academics in high esteem while educating the whole child remains a key component to instructional strategy. Our middle school curriculum guides students to become independent, creative learners.
Study skills and work habits that began in the elementary school are reinforced by teaching enhanced note taking, research, annotation, and close reading strategies. Christian values, respect for individual differences, and the importance of community are taught through students’ daily interactions with their teachers and classmates. Students are taught to respect one another and there is zero tolerance for bullying. Students graduate from St Mary School with the skills necessary to succeed in high school and beyond.
